Exactly 10 years ago I published the first version of my first solo Android app, the 5 Pin Bowling Companion. A lot has changed over the years, and I continue to maintain it today. Multiple total rewrites, a Kotlin migration, and an iOS release, I’m going to talk a little about the journey this app has been through.

Last week was the end of my 1 year assignment with Shopify in their Stockholm office, cut a little short thanks to COVID-19. I’d like to share my thoughts on the experience, how living and working abroad for a year went, and why I’ve decided to come home now.

This year I had the opportunity to attend both Google IO and WWDC, the developer-centric events hosted by Google and Apple respectively each year in Silicon Valley.

This past weekend the annual CS Games event took place in Quebec City, hosted by Université Laval. I didn’t originally plan on attending, but am very thankful a friend convinced me to pick up a ticket a month ago!
